Happy Friday everyone! Today I’m super excited about this book review! The other day Laura from Beautiful Things, sent me a copy of her book for me to give an honest review of. First of all I want to say, thank you Laura for letting me review your book - I think it is awesome that you are writing to bring God glory and I encourage you to keep up the great work! And now, without further ado, I present to you, EVEN IN THE GRAY: Daniel Rogers, a young American soldier, harbors bitterness against the one man who ruined his life. Memories torment him, and he can't seem to forget the past. How can a horrible train accident, a pretty French artist, an unplanned reunion, and a pocket-full of crayons help him see through his grey world and into the light of forgiveness? First of all, I just have to say, I really like the cover, it’s so pretty (I was tempted to say “purdy” but figured y'all would like proper spelling - I’m so thoughtful). Now what about the story….. It is a great book and I recommend reading it. Laura is a wonderful young writer and I enjoyed reading “Even in the Gray” and am excited to see where God will lead her on her writing journey. This story’s message of forgiveness was truly beautiful. Even in the Grey shows how harboring anger and hurt can take away your joy in life, and how forgiveness can heal even the most wounded heart and bring color back into your greyed world. I usually stick to fantasy novels but I found this short story to be quite refreshing. Reading this story has reminded me how vital it is to forgive, even when we don’t want to, even when it hurts. And sometimes, we cannot forgive on our own, sometimes it takes us asking Jesus to help and strengthen us to be able to do so. Here is the Bible verse that came to mind while I was reading this story: Colossians 3:13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. ---------- My favorite part of of the story was Daniel’s memory flashbacks and the moment when the “unplanned reunion” occurred. Alrighty PEOPLE, on with my favorite QUOTES from "Even in the Grey" (I had to specially make sure the quotes had no big spoilers, so again, I’m soooo thoughtful, right? You're welcome. ;) ) If you would like to read this story for yourself it is Available on Amazon: Click Here: Meet the Author: Laura GuenotAn all-out coffee enthusiast, Laura also loves writing historical fiction. So meaningful, and it just yells, “come read me! I’m awesome!” I really wish I could just like, steal this title and keep it for myself, but I won’t ‘cause you know, that would be wrong and stuff…. But seriously, great choice of title. (Pictures do not belong to me)
